There are going to be like 15 minutes of extra time.

I just had to rewind it to figure out what the hell was going on. Mexico is turning into a complete joke.

Aguirre should get a ban for kicking the Panamanian, and honestly, this game should have been called. The Panamanian player also should get a ban for being a complete poof and not being able to stand up to some soda cups.

Seriously, the Mexican fans are complete asses. Ochoa deserves some credit for at least trying to calm the idiots in the stands but this game should be called. They're whipping crap at the guy cramping up now.

Fifa should have fun with this one. Ochoa does seem a little different than past players. I hope Gooch knocks that leotard off of Dos Santos head.

Matches like this make our Federation look idiotic.

we need to get rid of those beaners, wolf should go crash his car into them or something

No ethnic slurs here. If I were a mod, you'd get a vacation.

I'm just savoring these times. This could easily be the high water mark for US Soccer in my lifetime.

It's certainly the lowest point in Mexican soccer in a long while.

What class, Mexico.

Nothing like a head coach kicking an opposing player.

Champions League, blah blah blah, they'll be in it for about 2 seconds.

Honestly, how much better than MLS is the Greek League? Not much, I doubt. On World Soccer Daily today he said he had a lot of options to explore in England, Spain, Germany and other places. If he could've gone to a league that I could watch every week but didn't, that's a bummer.

http://goal.com/en-us/news/66/united-states/2009/07/10/1375683/exclusive-altidore-to-join-greek-champions

According to Goal.com’s Greek edition, Greek Super League champions Olympiakos have signed a loan deal with Spanish side Villarreal that would bring the 19-year-old Altidore to Karaiskakis Stadium. His scintillating performance in South Africa last month appears to have jumpstarted interest in the New Jersey-native’s prospects.

Screw that.

A lot, probably. Greece has about 4 teams in the top-100 ranking, but it's a big drop after Olympiakos and Panathinaikos.

Olympiakos are currently ranked 34th, just below Espanyol (Ajax are 31st, just for reference)

I'm sure I rate the MLS higher than you. Outside of the top teams that qualify for Europe, I don't see much difference between the SPL, the Eredivisie and the Greek Super League.

So the debate seems to be: how do top MLS teams rate against Celtic and Rangers, Ajax and PSV or Olympiakos and Panathinaikos?

I don't know enough about MLS to answer that question, but I'm open to your arguments.

This is a crap lateral move. The Segunda is better than the Greek league. Jozy's agent is stupid.

jozy needs serious minutes more than anything.

I don't like the move at all but if he is always in the starting XI and this is just for 1 year then I could warm up to it. To be 19 and spend a year in Greece is not to shabby though.

I'm not going to argue that they are comparable. I'm just going to assert that Jozy only getting 4-5 games a year against top opponents in their champions league matches and the two legs against Panatinaikos isn't going to make much of an impression on his experience level than playing 90 minutes a game in MLS. I suppose there is something to be said for living in a foreign country since that's where his career is headed long-term. If it's only a year though, there's no point in learning Greek and he might not get 90 minutes a game. He left MLS because he thought he was ready to make a permanent move to a top flight league and get everything that comes with that. If he had other options like England, Spain or Germany, I hope he chooses that.

And like I said, I don't buy this report yet.
