I think the Cubs either need to do away with last names on jerseys completely or bring back the last names for home jerseys. It's weird having last names for road games and nothing for home games.

They will change next year, and return to putting names on the back of home jerseys.

Thank you. Those Cubs home jerseys look just plain weird, especially the blue ones.

Are you saying they look "weird" without the last names on the back?

Yes. That whole "clubhouse chemistry"/"no I in team" mentality went way too far when they took the names off.

Personally, I'm used to the Cubs with no last names on the back of their home uniforms. Having last names on the back just wasn't what I was used to seeing. That being said, it really doesn't bother me either way.

(1) Keep the names off.

(2) Find every last alternate jersey in existance and start the world's biggest polyester-fueled bonfire. The blues look ridiculous.

Change the blues to the BP navy blues and wear them as much as humanly possible.

I'll start the QFT bandwagon here.

Also, I prefer the current, no-name home jerseys. It just looks better.

It's not so much about team mentality vs. individuals, clubhouse chemistry or any of that BS. Home team fans should be able to identify their own players by their numbers, anyway.

I guess I am the only one who likes the blue jerseys. I don't understand the navy BP jerseys, and navy BP hats.

I love the blue alternate jerseys, and never could stand solid greys.

When I was growing up they didn't have the names on the back of their jerseys. It forced me to learn everybody's number. I was happy to see them go back to the nameless jerseys again.

I like the navy blue jerseys as well.

Just another color jersey/hat that the Cubs can sell to fans and enhance their own revenue.

It's smart from a business stance. You might not buy a green Cubs jersey(which exist) because the Cubs don't ever wear green. But, some people would be willing to purchase the navy blue jersey because the team actually wears them in batting practice and spring training.

I love the blues, hate the greys and like the navy BP hats enough that I bought one. However the best Cubs uni is the white pinstriped shirt.

Y'know, I couldn't tell you a single player's jersey number on ANY team. I just either know what they look like or rely on the radio/computer/TV to fill in the rest.

I wonder if this has anything to do with there being so many rookies on the team that Dusty couldn't tell them apart without names on the jerseys?

The real reason Dusty hates rookies! He's bad at names with faces.

Nameless jerseys remind me of the Yankees and Red Sox, so put the names back. I want no association with those teams whatsoever.

The blue unis can DIAF

Thank god they're worrying about the important things.

I hate the comments like that which try to make the management look even worse. (I'm not trying to attack you personally because it happens a lot).

This organization is terrible for its decisions regarding player signings, hitting philosophy, player development, coach, GM, etc etc.

The decisions regarding names on the jerseys are not stopping this team from getting better. Its the boneheads running everything. I would bet Hendry doesn't even have say in this. Theres probably a special department with people who don't have any part of the baseball side of things that make these decisions.

Plenty of teams can put together a good team and worry about stuff like this.

I geuess I'm analyzing it too deeply and its just meant to be funny, but I don't get such comments.
