Also Bruce, I'd love to hear your opinion on if giving Murton and Pagan both playing time is justified or not.

 

I'd start Murton every day. Every day. You can spot Pagan in RF against lefties.

 

There also is no reason Murton should be batting anywhere other than 2nd in the lineup. .298 avg/.365 obp...am I missing something here because Dusty certainly is.

Dusty: "The dude got thrown out at the plate yesterday. He needs to, like, sit and reflect on that."

Dusty: "A player needs to, you know, think for himself and know whether he can score or not."

 

Reporter: "Then why do you even need coaches if the players are expected to know what to do without help?"

I want to thank you all for all of your votes. I will start my tenure by starting Murton in LF every day, and rotating cedeno and theroit at 2B the remainder of the season. Neifi will assume Macias role of getting me coffee. And nothing more. Thank you.

This time though it actually made sense. We had 2 relievers who were ruled out of the game-the double switch allowed Novoa to go 2 innings, and Pagan gets the triple to get one of the runs.

True..but if you only have 3-4 relievers available (I believe Wuertz and Aardsma were unavailable if not more), and you have to use a reliever starting the 6th inning-you need that reliever to give you 2 innings-and you then need to double switch in order to not have the reliever bat. Not all of his double switches make sense, but this made sense.
