From what I gather he kicked the ball and the thin air drove it to the base on 2 hops matching a career high for Jaun.

According to game day the assist was at home...maybe he should try out as a kicker for an NFL team?

I have to see this throw and who was running. I would be embarrassed if I were the 3rd base coach....may he live in shame on SportsCenter.

Holliday was running, he's a pretty big boy but he's also got decent speed. Maybe he fell going around third, then decided to tease Pierre by crawling home so Pierre ran the ball home instead??

I have to believe the Ball was a sharp single. Why do the Cubs always have Monty Burns type arms in the OF?

Some kid named Patterson had a pretty good arm, but his production was starting to get too good.

You mean production like Patterson's in 05?

It was off the wall in right center and (of course) caromed way past JJones into short right center, where Pierre tracked it down and flipped it to Cedeno.

It was a guy trying to score from first.

From the game thread:

If there were any justice, it would've gone 8-4-3-2.

Mark this day down.

It was bound to happen, acutally it should happen more. Everyone knows he has a puss arm and thus they all try to take the extra base. At some point someone had to bite off more than they could chew.

I've been saying this for years and not just with Pierre. Players known for having good arms don't get run on very often so they don't have many chances to throw anybody out. Players known for having average to poor arms get run on all the time so they get more chances to throw somebody out and they are bound to get lucky and throw out an overzealous runner once and a while.

A good example that I always use is Barry Bonds. He has an average arm but gets run on all the time and every once and a while, throws somebody out. But most of the time it's like Sid Bream all over again.
