CCR. The Doors' output was too uneven and they lacked enough really great singles.

Pink Floyd had one #1 single ever. So they are worse than CCR too?

Yes, but not for that reason.

everyone who thinks ccr is better than the doors should really not be allowed to vote

what's so good about the doors?

that's right, nothing.

their lead singer has the coolest voice ever

also, i dont constantly confuse all their famous songs for one another, as i do with ccr

CCR all the way here. Proud Mary Keep on Turning!

you sure 'bout that?

I'd go with "burning. . . . or as john says, "boinin' "

It's the big wheel that keeps on "toinin"

Both great bands with distinctive sounds. I voted Doors because LA Woman is one of my favorite songs ever. I like CCR a lot but they didnt do anything that good

I really love both of these bands - however, I do agree that the Doors are slightly overrated, while CCR is slightly underrated. Fogarty's vocals are great, but his guitar work is often overlooked, because it seems fairly simple - but his incredible knack for writing and playing captivating riffs is a pretty extraordinary talent.

Other people that belong on the underrated list are Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek (I know I'm not spelling these right). These two were largely responsible for much of what made the Doors' music as good as it was - NOT Jim Morrison. Krieger's style on the guitar was pretty unique (before the Doors, he had only ever trained or played Spanish guitar), and he wrote "Light My Fire," among others. Manzarek composed all of the keyboard stuff, which was integral to their sound. Also, whenever Morrison was too messed up to perform, Manzarek would do all of the singing as well, in his best Jim Morrison impersonation. He was very good at it, too.

All that considered, I'm still voting CCR.

I like both these bands a lot. I probably listen to CCR more than The Doors now but if im in the mood for the Doors i prefer that more than CCR, so i voted for Jim and the gang.

John Fogerty is great, too bad he got screwed and doesnt own the stuff anymore.

CCR is probably in my top 5 favorite bands and I'd have voted for them over a lot of others that had matchups in the second round, but unfortunately for them, the Doors are probably my favorite band, period.
