And don't forget to watch EPatt at the Futures Game (also known as the only All Star weekend festivities I'll be watching) starting at 3 central on ESPN2. It'll go 7 innings.

Theriot and Pie (on a 2-0 pitch) single to leadoff the first, but Fontenot grounds into a 4-6-3 DP.

Restovich Ks swinging to strand a runner on third.

Jake Renshaw (professional debut?) with two scoreless innings so far for Mesa. They're scoreless in the third.

Renshaw's final line: 2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 3-1 GO-FO. One of the hits was a double.

Hernandez gave up 2 hits but no runs in his first inning in relief of Renshaw.

A Fontenot RBI single puts Iowa up 1-0 after 3.

Holdzkom in now for Mesa.

Restovich extends the Iowa lead to 2 with a solo shot.

Scoreless through 6 in Arizona.

And not surprisingly, Kendrick is getting the start at 2nd for USA over EPatt.

Wells gives up a 2-run HR in the 7th, but the I-Cubs lead it 4-2.

Mesa trails 1-0 in the bottom of the 8th.

No score in Peoria.

Wuertz nails down the save with a 1-2-3 9th including a pair of Ks. Iowa wins 4-2.

The Mesa box hasn't updated since they went to the 9th.

The Chiefs lead is 2-0 in the 4th.

Inoa has walked to force in the tying run. Marwin coming up to PH and try to put Mesa up with one man out.

Now an E2 has given Mesa the lead after recording an out at home on an infield grounder, but the inning ends when Inoa is thrown out at home (possibly on the same play).

Buuuut they give up the lead in the 9th and don't score in the 10th.

Robert Hernandez who pitched for Mesa today is only 17, doesn't turn 18 till October.

It's rather rare for the Cubs to put guys on their Mesa team who are in their debut season and who will not turn 18 until after the season.

I wonder if he might not ahead of the norm because he looks more promising than most of the Latin pitchers they've signed in recent years?

Would be awesome if he's a real prospect.

The box for Mesa has stalled again in the middle of the 10th.

Considering how well the US team is doing, Kendrick should get his 3 ABs relatively quickly. Hopefully EPatt will enter the game right after that and get at least 1 AB, maybe 2.

Mesa wins it 6-2 in 12. Cory Vanderhook continued his hot start by going 3-6 with a double and RBI.

Yeah, it's Renshaw's professional debut. And it was a good one, at that!

The Holli Man had a rough start and only lasted 2.2 IP.

Vero Beach is currently up 6-0 in the 4th.

Bah, 2 straight bad starts after I break down his hot May. Coincidence? I think not. Henceforth, I shall no longer compliment a Cub prospect...
