Ok, I hate Led Zeppelin, mainly because my brother has forced them down my throat. But I've never heard Primus, Led Zeppelin gets my vote.

I don't know what your musical tastes are, but Primus is definitely worth a listen. Les Claypool is (in my opinion) the best bass player in the history of rock music (better than Flea and Geddy Lee) and bass is the primary instrument in the band (while guitar is more of a rhythm/texture). Sailing the Seas of Cheese is my favorite album.

The talent alone of John Bonham knocks the crap out of Primus. I mean really if this was a battle of the bands Primus would play and then Led Zep would be like.....lets just send Bonham out to do Moby Dick while we drink some beer backstage. They would win with just a drum solo.

Okay, but if Les Claypool played a 20 minute piece on bass before hand...

listen, this is all apples and oranges (even more so based on how I did the pairings) so everyone can make arguments on both sides. This is why we vote

Then Jimmy freaking Page would blow the doors out of the stadium with a 20 minute guitar solo during Dazed and Confused.

Seriously, Claypool is good, but there is only so much you can do with a bass before it gets annoying.

This is the only vote that tore me in this group, as I'm a big fan of both bands. In the end I had to go with Zepplin because Kashmir is one of the greatest songs ever. A tip of the cap to Primus, though, whose unique sound I enjoy very much. (I voted for a couple #16 seeds and I can't believe one of them wasn't Primus.)

it's only going to get harder as the seedings get closer to each other, and later rounds are going to be excruciating
