There was a play in the 8th (I think) in which Endy Chavez slid into home.

The Pirates thought he was out, the Mets thought he was safe. The Ump ruled him safe.

Anyone see a replay and have an opinion :?: :?:

the play is very similar to the blown call at second in the Cubs game against the Astros.

you have the way the play is usually called by an umpire, ie. the 'neighborhood' call and the 'if it beats you by that much their gonna call you out' call.

on both plays, not only did the umpire decide to not do what umpires usually do, they got the play wrong. in fact, they went out of their way to see something that simply did not occur on the field.

I was watching the game with two Mets fans, we were going back and forth between SNY (channel 85) and WGN (channel 84). I thought he was out they both thought safe. After watching the replay several million times, I agree that he was safe.
