Has anyone seen Drew Rundle the cubs 16th round pick who signed with the team already? I read an article that said he would report to Mesa, but have not seen him iin the box scores yet.........

Hey look, it's our old buddy, Lee Gwaltney starting for Mesa!

I'm guessing Rundle and Renshaw are currently down in Mesa, but haven't been playing due to tweaking mechanics and whatnot.

Mesa loses 5-3. Oscar Bernard came in for 3 innings after Gwaltney gave up 2, and Bernard pitched 3 nearly perfect innings, only allowing 1 hit. Phil Norton took the loss as he gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, and had a K in 2 innings. Time to give it up Phil. Perez pitched the 8th and allowed 2 hits and an ER. Malone was the bright spot on offense for Mesa today as he went 2/3 with a HR and a triple. He also had a walk. Gilbert and Valentin had the other RBI's for Mesa; Valentin having an RBI double. Lopez had a double and Parker had a single as well for Mesa.

Tonight's Diamond Jaxx game has been rained out. We will play two tomorrow beginning at 5:30 EDT. Two seven inning games.

Mateo and Shaver will pitch the doubleheader.

Bummer on the Jaxx game. We're still in west Tennessee and I could've listened to the game on the radio.

Pagan is rehabbing at Iowa tonight in RF. Coats is in CF as Felix has a day off. Pagan grounded out in his 1st AB in the 1st inning.

Hill's 1st: 2 K's and a popout. 15 pitches, 10 strikes.

Why isn't that Hill kid up with the big league team again?

hill's line so far...

4 ip, 0 r, 1 h, 1 bb, 6 k's

mad at only being #6 on BA's hot sheet.

he also doubled and was eventually thrown out at home trying to score on a wp. see what effect that has on his pitching this inning. dusty's favorite horse pagan is 0-2, bb, sb.

I have a feeling Angel is keeping Rusch's spot warm for a few games when he's on rehab. Oh well. Dusty's getting his horses, right? Angel will struggle in his start considering he hasn't pitched in like 10 days and like twice in 20 days. Good job Dusty. Way to give him a chance to succeed.

Only 8K's so far, what's wrong with him? He should have 15 already

fyi - local papers have Samardzija pitching at least 2 innings tomorrow; not clear whether he'd start.

Oneri said he would start, The Idaho Statesman said they weren't sure whether he will start or not. I'm not sure who to trust. :P
