I didn't catch all of the game on the tube today (I'll look at train wrecks, but I don't linger for too long). But what I did hear from Len and Bob was some fairly pointed criticism. They didn't single any one player out, but the pop up that dropped safely between Murton and Perez evoked a lot of anger. Len said, "Someone's gotta step up and make that play." Bob followed up with, "I don't think it's possible for a team to play any worse than the Cubs are right now."

Yikes!

Personally, I think they're spot on. And Bob doesn't sound like a guy who's campaigning for a managerial job with the Cubs, even if it is on an interim basis.

I hope they don't go the way of Chip and Steve. I've grown to like their broadcasts.

I second the like of Len and Bob. I think they have hit a good stride working together. I still miss Stony though. But with all that said, they arent holding a candle to Ronny. He has been ripping a new one on Hendry, Baker, the coaches, and players for a good two weeks. He has been pointed sometimes but more often he has done it politely which is more damming in my view. The comments can not have been missed in the clubhouse or the front office.

Maybe they want to get axed. Who would want to sit through those games EVERY DAY? Not me, even if I got paid for it. Maybe they are looking at other job offers and figure WHAT THE HECK. Those comments are DESERVED. I don't think the Pope could zip it during a game like today.

Today was the first day I actually turned it off by choice. My daughter wanted to watch a DVD and I told her to go ahead. She said, "But the game's still on." I said, "Who cares."

Welcome back D Lee! Aren't ya glad to be part of the nightmare, not just sitting on the bench!?

Chip and Steve over Bob and Len anyday of the week. Although Bob and Len have improved over the last month or so. Edited by Neuby

My favorite of the day was when Bob said, and I quote: "You can't try to play this bad". Absolutely spectacular. God I hate the Cubs for this season.

MLB.TV has the OTHER team's announcers during the replay. Any way to get the full game replay with bob and len? I really want to hear it all.

I actually went from May 20th to June 20th without watching the Cubs. I didn't watch any pro baseball, I didn't look at any baseball news... and it was nice. I did come here however for the 24 thread and World Cup thread lingering.

Chip and Stone were great but I don't mind Len and Bob at all.

As for Bob being manager of this team, I would be surprised if he wanted the job. I sure wouldn't.

I will always miss Chip and Steve, but Len and Bob have grown into the job nicely and even have somewhat of a chemistry now whereas through most of 2005 I don't think they had much of a rapport.

Len & Bob suck. The best ever combo was Stoney & Thom Brenneman.

You say "Len and Bob suck" yet, you like Thom Brenneman, who, IMO, was widely consider the worst broadcaster in Cubs history...right there with Losh Lewin.

Len and Bob, is prolly the best tandem WGN could had gotten (even tho, they wanted Dan O'Brien). Only problem is...Len and Bob will prolly be fired after the season, and replace with Joe Carter and Josh Lewin.

Personally, I really like Len and Bob. But it may be hard to enjoy them because of the product on the field. I'd like to see them get a chance to announce when the Cubs are going good.
