the cubs really need to start limiting marshall's innings. whether that means putting him on strict pitch count or skipping him when they get the chance, it needs to happen. he's never thrown more than 100 innings in a season, and he's on pace to go well over that. and he's really sucked his last three times out.

I think todays performence was actually good. The Defense and the Offense let him down in a big time way today...

Marmol and Marshall are better than Hill, when in reality I don't think any of those three guys stand out above each other.

At least Marmol and Marshal has shown some sort of talent and poise. Hill has no poise, walked the world, and just was flat out awful with a 9 ERA.

era of 5 = talent and poise

era of 9 = flat out awful

got it.

nine baserunners (though one hit should have been an out) in 4+ innings isn't very good.

Oh c'mon! I'm not going to sit here and bring out all the stats of every start of these pitchers. You watch the games as much as I do, if you can honestly say that Hill has impressed you, then knock yourself out.

Anyone else enjoy it when Brenly rips on Ramirez, even if it's just with a seemingly innocuous comment?

"That probably wouldn't have been a triple with the way Ramirez came out of the box."

How many base runners have Radke had today? Are you saying he's not impressive also today?

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. Players that think they are good and act like prima donnas while they are of average ability.

Marshall deserves better than this. I hope he stays mentally tough and learns from this.

As much as people here have been drooling over Marshall, his numbers have not been all that good this season. He's handled himself well, all things considered, but I don't think he's proven much more than any other pitching prospect in this system.

I mean, for heaven's sake, his ERA is 4.92 with an away ERA of 6.53! That's just dreadful.

I don't think drooling is the word. No one projected him as a number one starter. He made a huge jump from the low Minors and he's held his own.

hill made a bigger jump last year, struggled a little, and has been written off by many.

I flip to see if the WC is back on, flip back...then I hear the crowd booing while the camera pans to Murton, Neifi, and Baker in that order, followed by Brenly saying, "You couldn't play this bad if you tried."

Wow.

It's not cut and dry but there's no denying that Hill hasn't been able to translate his MiL dominance into anything productive on the ML level. I'm sure he'll get another chance but he'll have to show more "poise" to stay with the team. He doesn't appear to trust his stuff and or is just wild against ML hitters because he's walked too many batters.

WTH? That ball was the OF'ers.

Wow.

The Primas can't yell at Bob like they did Steve. They deserve the blame just like they did when Steve called them out on it but they won a couple of games when Stone did it so they had a little power. Somebody has to take charge and stop being these clowns buddy.

hill's 100+ AAA innings have been nothing short of amazing. that's impressed me. i'm not foolish enough to make a judgment based on a few bad big league innings.

If Hill was struggling a "Little" he'd still be pitching in the Bigs.
