I will be making my yearly trip to Chicago in Late july to watch the cubs. Every year I wonder if there is somewhere that could save me money on parking. I always stay downtown and take the redline to the game. Costs me a fortune to park in the garages downtown. I was wondering if there was safe, cheap parking somewhere else in town and I could just take the cta downtown to my hotel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I asked that same question on this board a few years ago, an someone at the time turned me on to a great option. I live downstate in Springfield, so I take I-55 (the Stevenson) up to Chicago. I park in China Town (22nd St) right of the highway - it's pretty affordable and safe (it's the official China Town parking lot). You pull in, park and the L runs right over your head. After the game I hop on the L and ride it far enough South that by the time I get in my car I can zip right back onto the highway and be home in 3 hours.

I've done it a few times now and I'm always happy with it!

GOOD LUCK - and GO CUBS

If your coming from downtown, you could always park at the millenium park garage, last time I went there it cost me $10 for the day. That's pretty cheap as far downtown parking lots go.

I come in from WI and I usually park at the cumberland rd exit near O'Hare. There is a ramp there which is pretty cheap or if I'm feeling lucky I park at the Marriott for free.

I live in the burbs and my wife and I make it to 10-15 games per year. By far the best parking is at the DeVry campus on Addison. It's free and there's a shuttle to and from the park courtesy of the Cubs.

Take the Kennedy and get off at Addison heading east. DeVry will be on the right (follow the signs). If memory serves, I think it's right after Racine (?). Either way just follow the signs for the DeVry Remote Lot.

easiest thing to do is to park at montrose harbor. take lake shore drive north to the montrose harbor exit. park there and walk from montrose to sheridan. take a left on sheridan...it'll take you right to wrigley field. the walk from sheridan to wrigley is maybe 7-8 blocks (10-15 minute walk). if you don't mind the walk, it's awesome...plus it's FREE. if you don't want to walk, hail a cab and they'll take you to wrigley for 5-7 dollars.

They tow from that lot now...I learned the hard way

You're lucky if you get it for free. Costs me 6 bucks. For night games, there is ZERO parking. If its a day game, Wrigley's parking shortcomings are grossly exaggerated.

If you are going to a day game, you can park on the street around Wrigley in the Lakeview neighborhood. Just have to make sure you are out before 6 pm. You need a parking pass if it is past 6 pm. I have a few that can go to board members for this month if anyone needs them. I live on Sheffield and Diversy about 10 blocks south of Wrigley

LV2 is restricted from 5-10 PM. 383 on the east side of clark and north of Addison is 24 hour restricted. 383 on the west side of Clark or south of Addison is 6PM to 6AM restricted.

Night games brings towing to all of these parking zones.

If you are shoing up early, try parking on Clark north of Grace. No parking restrictions and no meters. Also, the Sheridan east-west jog (find it on a map) is not zoned.
