Tese are teh Cubs, there is no way that the Cubs go this young. I can see no reason why Maddux is not resigned to a 1 year deal in the offsesaon if he continues to perform like he has this season. If Maddux is playing next season, I want him to be a Cub. There should be no reason why we would want him out of this organization ever again.

 

Don't forget that Rusch is back next year too. A rotation of:

Z

Prior

Marshall

Maddux

Rusch

I thought I heard Len say something about 2007 being Z's last year under Cubs control a few days ago...

 

I think that is right:

 

Z = 07'

Prior = 08'

keeping maddux for another year just b/c they let him go too early in the past is pretty foolish. i think the chances of him getting away from the cubs again and winning 200 games and a bunch of cy youngs is pretty slim at this point. i don't want anything to do w/ him next season unless he's pitching for like 2 mil.

The only way I want Maddux any where near this team is if he takes over as pitching coach in 2007. However with this teams propensity for retaining less than deserving personal Roth will still be here. And Maddux wil pry still be pitching. :x
