I seriously can't follow this thread with two people posting the same thing every play. It makes my eyes hurt

We're watching the game on different networks if it makes you feel any better

I don't think Lane will be going anywhere fast for the rest of the night; on that replay you could clearly see that he was hit square on the shin bone. That's got to hurt no matter hard that pitch was thrown.

I think one of you should post the alternative universe version wherein the Cubs have a real manager, with a real lineup, etc.

It is really weird that the Astros are only scoring runs in the odd innings..I didn't even notice until the announcers just mentioned it. It must be another one of those omen things.

I wonder if at this point Dusty has given up on this team? He leaves Marshall in while he's getting pounded pretty good, he continually puts out mediocre lineups then double switches to make them worse, and in this inning he lets Ohman become the Astros' BP pitcher...maybe he's trying to get fired.

Why is Ohman starting an inning against a lineup that doesn't have a left handed hitter?

i'm sure that dusty knows the game is over. why waste a good pitcher you might need tomorrow?

hahaha, that's probably the first time i've ever defended dusty

The Cubs are not good enough to be a contender, but not bad enough to be considered one of the worse teams. In other words....they are mediocre. And yet how the Cubs fans see mediocre, and the Cubs management see mediocre are completely different.

Visions of medocity:

Cubs fans: blow it up, and chalk another line in the wall. Let's make it officially 98 yrs since the last title. We see the sitaution realistically.

Cubs managment: Dude, we need all of our horses back. They believe that once Prior, Miller, and Lee come back, a miracalous run is in store.

They see the situation with pixie dust.

Blah.....Cubs.
