The Pirates comparison sparked my bats today.. Hell of a day, although I can almost guarantee a choke job before Sunday. Oh well.. moving closer toward a high draft pick and I really like my young bats. The Kemp trade earlier this year could really pay off!

 

Today's line: 19-38, 4 2B, 2 3B, HR, 14 RBI, 10 R, BB, 5 KO, 30 TB

I am afraid of jinxing myself, but...It looks like the Quakers league leading defense is coming through again. But with Juan's offense I need to be careful.

 

 

Now if I can only find a way to have it work on Tim.... I am afraid that the last time we locked horns his defense worked on me.

My defense is working on myself at the moment. Nothing like dropping your starting SS by accident and then not being able to pick him back up by game time becuase of waivers. #-o

Is it legal to drop Duckworth, who is supposed to start tomorrow, and insert Prior since he is coming off the DL? I won't be gaining a start, and I need to make a roster move in order to take Colon off the DL as well and make my roster legal tomorrow.

Weaver was sent to the minors. Is it legal for me to pick up a pitcher who starts tomorrow to make up for the start I'm missing with Weaver going to the minors?

Two 50+ point days in a row for me, but it doesn't look like enough to make up for an awful early part of the week. At least it looks like a couple of my hitters (Peralta and McPherson) are starting to come around.

Just so everyone is aware of my Hendry like move. When "Big Skirt" went on the DL, I picked Craig Monroe back up and slotted him in at Utility, which is where BS was at. Monroe isn't playing (which is a shame, since he probably could have done some nice damage against Rusch), so I dropped him to pick up Mike Jacobs.

 

Basically, I'm on my third Utility guy this week.

Nice job, Torre you idiot. Puts Wang out there in the 9th working on a 4 hitter and a 1 run lead. Ryan Zimmerman with a walk off. The first hit should have been enough to pull the plug. Now I'll never make it to 400 this week. [-(

I thought I might have a shot at 400 at the beginning of the week. 9 starts and so far only 1 bad one, with Blanton still to take the hill.

 

Of course, I got nothing from my utility spot, Griffey has had a horrible week and my relievers all suck.

If you do the subtraction on the Prior start, the Trots are at around 235 pts. If Ortiz, Timlin, Nixon, and Franceour can combine for around 25 pts, Buddiga could pull off the comeback...

I had 8 and came within a third of an inning from a 9th. The 10th start was a no doubt about it bad start. Also had 7 wins. My team will suck again next week, however. :D

So, it looks like I can beat the top teams in my division, but lose to the teams below me. Makes a lot of sense.. ugh!

SOS had two 20+ starts from Carpenter, 1 from Capuano, 1 from Garland, 1 from Gonzalez and 17+ start from Robertson....and I lost by 11.
