Fifth Year Senior Signing - Rocky Roquet

I haven't seen this anywhere else, but apparently the Cubs organization mined Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this year...we signed fifth-year senior Rocky Roquet as a free agent at the end of May.

 

Roquet is a relief pitcher...His 2006 was much better than his 2005, that is for sure( K:BB- '05=12:9, '06=41:19). 23 IP in '05 vs 34.1 IP in '06. He also saved 10 games for the Mustangs this year, not a whole lot, but when that team wins they usually win big.

 

That makes three SLO players in the Cubs organization this year (possibly), and that makes this alumni very happy :D I wish the Cubs had been around the last two years to pick some other Cal Poly players, they had better teams in '04 and '05 I would say.... I think I just hijacked my own thread?
