Express Mock Draft Thread! On the Clock: Toronto Blue Jays

The Rays have been on the clock since 11:58pm last night which was over 12 hours ago so since Lincecum has the most votes I do believe he's the pick.

Correct.

Sorry, I've been away this morning.

Pirates are on the clock!

I'm voting Lincoln.

I'll re-cast my vote, Hochevar to the Pirates

Really? Even thought he's a Boras client and the Pirates are cheapskates?

Those would be fun negotiations to watch, given that Hochevar has almost zero leverage.

I'll keep picking him until he's off the board. I really think he'll go #3.

Kershaw to Pirates

Didn't the current Pirates owner make Littlefield pass on Upton and take Bullington because he preferred college players?

Most mocks have the Pirates taking a P, but I don't agree with that. They've got quite a few good arms in their system, I think that they'll take Stubbs here. His speed and defensive skills fit nicely in PNC.

Well, we're going for most realistic, so if he didn't go #3 like you thought he would, you have to make him go to the most likely next destination. This isn't just a draft board deal here.

I don't necessarily agree that the Pirates are guaranteed a college player in the 1st rd. Look at their last two 1st rounders, McCutchen & Neil Walker, both HS guys.

I think they're looking for a combination of affordability and projectability. Most of their picks in recent years have been guys who've signed relatively quickly for a reasonable price.
