Toronto manager John Gibbons wanted more offense against White Sox starter Freddy Garcia, and didn't think his third baseman would see many grounders with fly ball pitcher Ted Lilly on the mound.

The 6-foot-5 Glaus cleanly fielded two grounders and caught a popup in his 11th career appearance at shortstop and first since June 6, 2002, with the Angels.

it also said it was his first career start at shortstop. i'm adding gibbons to my list of smart managers. between this and his usage of bj ryan, i'm pretty sold.

he's really made some really good moves.

and some AJ Burnett one's.

In the AL East I think that's a chance worth taking.

And some randomly acquiring a fungible Lyle Overbay moves.

I don't think Troy has played SS since his junior year at UCLA.

The reason Glaus started at SS is because the Jays sent Russ Adams, their starting shortstop down to AAA.

Adams has developed Steve Sax/ Chuck Knoblauch disease where he can't even make a routine throw to 1st.

Maybe the Cubs will pick Adams up...j/k

Rumors have Adam Kennedy coming to the Jays from Anahiem for Shea Hillenbrand.

We have like 30 guys who can play 2B or SS. The Cubs should ship one of them off to Toronto.

I don't think Riccardi takes Hendry's phone calls.
