Why are we playing for 1 run already?

Because Dusty loves giving away outs.

Ok is there something wrong with moving a runner over to third base with no outs? It gave the cubs a run. Who knows if baker allowed hairston to swing away and he pops up in the infield then you have 1 out and pierre stuck on 2b still. Walker then grounds out 4-3 now you have 2 outs with pierre on third. Then Barrett flys out so now the score is 0-0 instead of 1-0. That is why Baker had Hairston bunting

Yep. Bunting people over has worked well for us this year. How many runs have we scored again? How many sac bunts have there been this year?

Ok how many clutch hits has Hairston had this year? NONE. Im not sure what is wrong with playing with a early lead. I guess you guys just want to the cubs to fail

Ummmmm... what?

Yeah everytime im on NSBB i hear someone say i hope we lose. What is that about??? ANd know im hearing how bad of a play it was for Hairston to bunt that does not make any sense.

So you expect us to win by trying for one run instead of trying for a big inning with our pitching being abysmal? It's pretty obvious that small ball isn't working too well for us this year. Maybe we should try something else, no?

It dosent work because the Cubs can never get on base to use small ball.

Okay. So, if they can't get on base, why should they be wasting outs? If it doesn't work, shouldn't they try something else, like not wasting outs?

Your one of them who says "I hope we lose" can you tell me why you say that, and in my opinion i dont think it is sarcasm i really think you do want them to lose so they can fire Baker.

Why do you want them to win?

Their chances of making the playoffs are just a little better than 1 in 400 at this point.

Cubs management says it's too early to throw in the towel when they should be thinking about how to make this team better next year and the near future.

This season is already a lost cause. It's not pessimism. It's realism.

Personally, I am rooting for them to lose right now, and I'm not ashamed to say it. We will not win as long as the current management stays in place.

If the Cubs start winning some games now, they might finish in fourth or fifth place. If that's good enough for you, then I'm glad you're not the GM.

Anyone else find it weird that Andruw Jones wears those sunglasses during ABs?

Sounds odd.

They're these purplish ones that look more like something a guy would wear out on the town rather than during a baseball game. I think it might be like those contact lenses that people have been wearing to pick up the spin on the balls better.

Nothing gets changed with this team if we have a season like last year. Management will blame the bad start on injuries, say that the team performed much better when everybody came back, and claim that the team would have been even better if the injuries wouldn't have happened. Then they won't change anything. There are numerous problems with this team that need to be addressed and without a horrible season I don't think they will be.

Well then your not a cub fan if you are "rooting" for them to lose. That does not make any sense. Yeah its a tuff time to watch them play, but that being said I will NEVER root for them to lose.

It may be different with football, but I'm a Raiders fan and, once I realized the season was lost, I rooted for them to lose because I wanted them to get a higher draft pick. That doesn't mean that I'm not a Raiders fan. People do this all the time.
