Well, if you go back a few years ago, there was a Sosa & Patterson for Andruw Jones rumor a few years ago, so missing on Jones has to go in the top 2. Of course, Jones was ripped cause he didn't take enough walks. Just like that guy w/ 17 homers this year, Soriano. Some had the foresight to want both Jones & Soriano. (Patting myself on the back) :)

So the new order of Hendry mess ups:

1. Not making the Prior for Tejada trade.

2. Not making the Patterson & Sosa for Jones trade.

3. Not making the Murton for Soriano trade.

4. Not signing a top of the line pitcher.

5. Trading for Pierre instead of Castillo.

6. Not signing Dye after 2004.

Castillo, Soriano, Lee, Tejada, A. Jones, ARam, Dye & Barrett.

I guess that's as plausible as Bradley in LF, Patterson in CF, Giles in RF,and Nomar @ SS. :D

Well, i have to go by impact so...

1. Not trading Prior for Tejada.

2. Not making the Soriano for Murton trade rumor happen. Those 16 homers would REALLY help.

3. Counting on Rusch/Williams/Hill/Guzman. Should have signed or traded for a solid starter.

Yes because, fourth place is alot better then 5th place.

Soriano WOULD NOT have made a difference. This ORGANIZATION needs to get into the 21st century, and developed PLAYERS who can play the game, instead of signing mediocre smashers.

There was a number of us who expressed serious misgivings about trading for Pierre both before and after he was acquired.

He's the wrong kind of guy- he's a very very weak slap hitter who swings at everything and runs well. His OBP is almost entirely tied to his batting average because that's the only way he can get on base. He's also a pretty poor center fielder when you consider my 2 year old nephew has a stronger and more accurate arm.

Many of us cautioned that Pierre was not as good as Hendry hyped him to be, and that his 2 years prior to last season might have been the flukes, not last year's lower numbers, because of a ridiculously high BABIP.

The only thing I wonder, what are they going to do next? I can't wait to see what [expletive] roster decision they make next, what with this Womack business.

Hendry's biggest mistake was probably wasting money on Rusch and Neifi when it could have been used for much more useful bench players...its funny though cause when the Cubs traded for Pierre I don't remember too many cubs fans sounding disappointed so i don't see how that can be his biggest mistake, at the time most people seemed happy to have him...i also don't see how not getting joe girardi as coach was his biggest mistake, so far I don't see any reason to believe that Joe Girardi would make a really good coach...honestly I want Steve Stone somewhere in the Front Office or as coach

Plus we had Sing and Dopriach. I think Sing broke his foot and Dopriach is sucking, so we shouldn't have called them up.
It's the other way around. Dopirak broke his foot in the first game of the year, and Sing started the year at Iowa but got moved back to West Tenn after struggling. He's had eye problems which have probably contributed to his struggles.
