Jaxx lose 3-1. Rocky Cherry got the loss as he gave up back to back homers in the 8th. Moore and Sing each had 2 hits and 4 of the Jaxx's 7 hits.

Peoria wins 8-4. Peoria put a 3 spot in both the 6th and 7th innings. Every hitter in the starting lineup for the Chiefs had at least 1 hit. Billek got the win in relief pitching 2 scoreless while striking out 3 and walking 2.

Iowa down 1-0 in the 4th and Daytona is set to get underway.

Looks like Von Joshua was ejected as a result of McGehee being called out on strikes. After the strikeout, though, Fontenot walked, Augie singled, Soto walked, Walrond struck out, and Pie was HBP to drive in a run and tie it up.

Daytona up 5-0 in the 3rd. Matt Craig hit a 2 run homer in the 1st (his 7th on the year) and Sam Fuld hit a 2 run homer in the 2nd (his 3rd on the year). Jake Fox had a sac fly as well, his 35th RBI on the season.

Going to the 8th in Fresno, 2-2.

Iowa tied it on a throwing error caused by Auggie Doggie jumping around on 2b.

Watson got out of a huge jam in the Fresno 7th for our Cubbies.

Heart of the order coming. Lets go Micah!

Iowa leads 3-2 in the 9th. Montanez came in to PH and got a squeeze bunt down to score Restovich in the 8th.

Daytona leads Tampa 5-3 in the 6th.

further proof that small ball wins ball games when properly executed. :)

The only problem is the Chicago Cubs hardly ever properly execute it. Give me 3 homers and a triple any day!

How good is this shortstop Mota?Is he only 18,how did we get him?

International scouting; I believe Venezuela. He's skinny and raw, but has nice defensive instincts and has been making pretty good contact. The Cubs are going to take as much time as possible with him, considering his age and how raw he is.

He might be a good one down the road, though.

Randy Wells with another good outing. If my numbers are right, he's given up 6 ER in 34.1 IP with a 27/6 K/BB ratio.

Yeah, that's what I have him for. And a .195 BAA. Great to see him bounce back so well from the injury.

How does he rate in comparison to Dylon Johnson in your opinion?

Tough call since I haven't done a whole lot of reading on either or seen either of them play yet.

Yeah, don't look now, but the entire AA rotation is lookin' pretty darn good. Only Mathes has a WHIP over 1.18 and his is only 1.27. Only Mathes has an ERA over 3.18 (4.00). Only Mathes and Shaver are over 23 years old, and they are both just 24 at that.

Not bad.
