Why do we get guys and they always stink? Cards get Womack and he's an allstar. Cards get Eckstein and he becomes a great leadoff hitter. Weren't both these guys at the tail end of their careers? You wanna bet if Pierre was a cardinal he'd be hittig .300..

Eckstein came over at 29, hardly at the end of his career. He was a WS hero for the Angels and had a 103 OPS+ once, just a 98 for STL last year.

 

 

 

 

Santo with some of the smartest words I've heard him say talking about Pierre's lack of patience.
