Why is everyone acting as if this game is over? 7 runs will not win this game today.

Dusty can still play for one run in each of the next 5 innings and, if successful, we'll head to extra innings.

Relax!

All we need is 5 leadoff walks, 5 successful sac bunts, and then 5 hits with a RISP.

What the hell has happened to this team in the last 1 1/2 weeks?

Reality. Look at the lineup and the starters the Cubs have been throwing out there, and try to say with a straight face that they should be winning consistently.

Agreed! A team with a 95 million dollar payroll should not have three rookies in the starting rotation. We are bascially the Marlins.

I predict a 25-game winning streak now that Barrett has shown some FIRE! and INTENSITY!

That's the kind of clubhouse leader this team needs.

What happened?

He and roberts had some words after roberts scored. Resulted in warnings.

Odds on Dusty being fired before next week?

If we had a good GM he would be aready gone but since we're stuck with Hendry, there's a good chance we are stuck w/ Baker too.

Right, the Cubs won't draw 5 leadoff walks in two weeks.

Not a chance! In all honesty another manager with this team wouldn't do much better. Until we get Lee, Wood, and Prior back (if they come back) we are looking at a below .500 team...

I think it will take Wood and Prior to come back, to pitch well, and to still be losing before they'd fire Dusty, sadly.

Roberts actually made a bad play in stealing third. Yes, he was successful, but it was close, and he's so fast he would have scored on a single anyway. You never want to make the first or third out at third.

Barrett was probably lecturing him on run expectancies.

oh, c'mon. look at the lineup, even as pathetic as it has been without Lee, and try to say honestly that that lineup is only capable of scoring a run a game for two weeks.

it's not reality. I didn't expect an offensive juggernaut, especially without Lee, but this is bizarr-o world type stuff.

Didn't Barrett do the same thing in 2004 with the Astros' and that eneded up firing up the 'Stros to the playoffs? You would think he'd learn.

Error on Murton. 8-2 now.

Castilla grounds out.

Pat says the Cubs self-destruct in the inning. Five hits, five runs, three errors.

And a sarcastic cheer from the crowd...what little is left
