Stupid question of the day.

Why do they notate innings:

5.1 Cain

.2 Reliever

?

5.1+ .2= 5.3

shouldn't it be

5.3 Cain

.7 Reliver

= 6.0 IP

?

3 outs make an inning. It goes by thirds

That's my point. If it goes by thirds it should be 5.3, 5.7, 6.0

Ok. Early in the game, Brenly and Len were moaning about the only hits being up the middle. Now, after Pierre goes up the middle for a single, Bob says, "Right up the middle. Gotta love that."

Pierre singled to center field

And he hit it out of the infield.

Don't tell me the Pee-Train is getting ready to leave the station.

5.1 means five innings and one out

5.2 = five ful and two outs

I thought Cain was supposed to be a young stud? For those in the know, is he still held in high regard?
I put him right up there with Rich Hill.

Cain is 21 though...Hills 26

People don't tend to want to do fractions/decimal conversions when they read the box score. It's just a notation, rather than math.

Mr ARam is no longer hitting his weight. He is regressing to the Mendoza line mean.

The Mendoza line is located 8 points above the Neifi line.
