The West Tenn at Mississippi game doesn't begin until 7:05.

That would explain why I can't get the broadcast to work!

Yeah. I wanted it to be a 1:05 game. My nephew could have gone with us if it were. We're about 90 miles away, so it's going to be a late night for us and with his having school tomorrow, my brother won't let him go.

Hopefully, Addison can last until the end. I'm leaving to head that way in about 30 mins.

Daytona is putting it away in the top of the 9th:

Sam Fuld flies out to center fielder Clete Thomas.

Jemel Spearman hit by pitch.

Ryan Harvey reaches on throwing error by third baseman Wilkin Ramirez. Jemel Spearman to 3rd.

Jake Fox out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Jeffrey Frazier. Jemel Spearman scores. Ryan Harvey to 2nd on the throw.

Aaron Weston triples (1) on a line drive to right fielder Victor Mendez. Ryan Harvey scores.

Issmael Salas singles on a line drive to center fielder Clete Thomas. Aaron Weston scores.

Daniel Gonzalez singles on a line drive to left fielder Jeffrey Frazier. Issmael Salas to 2nd.

Matt Craig triples (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Clete Thomas. Issmael Salas scores. Daniel Gonzalez scores.

And they win 11-5.

Weston was a double shy of the cycle.

Salas through 69 ABs: .362/.405/.464

Pie was CS in the 6th, but Fontenot and Coats followed it up with base hits before Casey McGehee had an RBI single scoring Fontenot.

Iowa down 3-2 in the 7th.

Iowa scored 2 in the 9th to take a 4-3 lead on a McGehee homer and an RBI double by Ojeda. Wuertz was in to close it out, but he gave up a leadoff single to Brian Daubach, threw a WP, and then Daubach scored on a fielder's choice error. Wuertz came back though to get 3 straight outs. So after 9 in Memphis, it's all tied up at 4.

Buck Coats hits his 3rd homer of the year to put Iowa up 5-4 in the 10th!

That's a good sign. Hopefully he can boost his power numbers. He only had 4 doubles and 2 HRs coming into today, keeping his OPS below .900.

Aside from his 29 Ks to 6 walks, Norwood is off to a pretty nice start this season: .333/.370 (about)/.505 in 111 ABs.

Well, so far so good. Against very weak competition (Low-A), Kerry finished 5 innings striking out 12 while walking only 1. He threw an as of yet unofficial 70 pitches and allowed only 4 batters to hit the ball in fair territory. One was a ground ball single, another a ground ball out and 2 fly ball outs.

I'm looking forward to one more rehab start against AA or AAA competition on the 12th (I-Cubs are at home, DJaxx are on the road in Montgomery) which would put him on schedule to pitch against the Nationals on the 17th in Wrigley Field.

Come on, Kerry.

With Tony Ritchie hitting .193 at AA with a paltry SLG% of .228 and Jake Fox, who impressed during spring training, at High-A hitting .340 with a SLG% well over .600 (having hit his 8th HR today), isn't it time for those two to switches places?

After how Fox performed while filling in for Barrett and Blanco this spring and the fact that Ritchie hardly played at all with the big club (1 AB, no hits), I never understood why Ritchie started at AA and Fox was placed on the Daytona's roster.

Has anyone heard anything that explains their decision?

Great job as always tonight, Nathan. Sounded like a great atmosphere, a great game, and great fun in the booth.

Nathan will try to get some of the Kerry Wood press conference on the pregame show tomorrow.
