Rapada gets his 8th save of the season on 9 pitches in the 9th. Jaxx win 5-3 completing the perfect day for the Cubs minor league teams :D

With Tony Ritchie hitting .193 at AA with a paltry SLG% of .228 and Jake Fox, who impressed during spring training, at High-A hitting .340 with a SLG% well over .600 (having hit his 8th HR today), isn't it time for those two to switches places?

After how Fox performed while filling in for Barrett and Blanco this spring and the fact that Ritchie hardly played at all with the big club (1 AB, no hits), I never understood why Ritchie started at AA and Fox was placed on the Daytona's roster.

Has anyone heard anything that explains their decision?

I've been wondering this myself...Fox had a HR, and 2 SF's today for 3 RBIs, upping his total to 22 on the year with 8 HR and a .340 AVG. From all accounts, he's improved his defensive issues that were at one time considered fairly bad. If defense is no longer an issue (while it may not be a strong suit), he should no doubt switch with Richie.

Besides, Fox could be a useful piece to the puzzle in a year or so if he continues this. Catcher's that hit for power and walk at a decent rate (13 in 103 ABs before tonight, compared to 22 K) are a valuable commodity. He could be our next guy behind the dish, or he could be a big part of a trade. Whatever the future holds, just don't let him rot away down at single A while he could at least be in AA. Maybe with a good spring, they just wanted him to build up a little bit of confidence back in Daytona so he could handle the jump to West Tenn.

Nathan, apparently Rothschild and other members of the Cubs staff listened to you in the clubhouse last night.

Any idea how many people listened in?
