I don't follow the Mets, so perhaps Goony could help.

Would Nady be at all possible to nab? Even if it would cost a small fortune, he could be a viable OF option.

Just throwing it out. Lets face it, something significant has to be done that will help whether the current storm along with helping the rest of the season. The roster has been exposed as thinner than expected. This franchise is wealthy enough to weather this storm by replenishing lost talent through free agency (if used wisely, which has been an entire seperate issue). So, if the Cubs want to salvage this season, its time to vastly overpay now. Not a position I'm happy about, but a position that nevertheless exists.

Nady would be extremely expensive to pick up. The Mets are really high on him and were extremely happy to pick him up for Cameron.

Although he now hits 7th in their order, he is a valuable part of their club. Endy Chavez and Jose Valentin are their other OFs, so it would take at least 2 starters and a fill in OF to even get close imo.

If we were going to deal with the Mets for someone, it would be Victor Diaz. Nady is playing well right now, but Diaz is probably the better player (not by much, but better) and he's currently blocked at both left and right field as well as first base (he's worked on playing first a little - it was thought he might play there this season before the Mets picked up Delgado).

He's probably not in long term plans, either, as Lastings Milledge will be their next OF.

I would do Hill for Diaz straight up. I am a Hill supporter, but Diaz is solid. It would be good for both teams.

Not a chance the Mets give him up!

Why not? He's not playing. 11 at-bats so far this year.

Delgado is at first, and Nady, Beltran, and Floyd are in the OF. Milledge is going to be the next OF to get playing time.

There's no place on the Mets for Diaz.

And we passed on Milledge and took Harvey because of "character issues",we would rather have "good character"busts.

Jon Papelbon in the 4th round...baseball drafts are such crapshoots.

Unfortunatly, the players we shoot are usually crap.

So if we shoot them, that would make it a crapshoot.
