Oh, apparently Marmol is done and Paul Schappert is in. Marmol was just hitting for himself.

Jerome Williams: 2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0/3, 45 pitches. After 2 innings, it's still 1-0 Nashville.

I don't have the splits in front of me, but I can get an updated stats sheet this weekend and post them.

Nic Jackson 3/5 today with a double and two singles. It's now pouring in Jackson as they go to the 9th - the Jaxx lead 8-4.

Iowa leads 3-1 in the 5th, thanks to an RBI single by Casey McGehee.

In the middle of the 5th, Jerome Williams: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2/3

Do you know what David Kelton has in common with Michael Jackson?

They both wear one glove for no apparent reason.

Somewhat off-topic, but who will be pitching for the Jaxx on Sunday?

JR Mathes threw yesterday and the Jaxx don't have an off-day before then. With that being said, I'd think he'll be starting.

How long before Nic is moved on up to Iowa?

It looks like he's found his stroke again, and I'd like to see him play against better competition. He might be needed for the bench before this year is done.

Can he play 1b?

Probably not much of a need to right now. The Iowa outfield consists of Pie, Padgett, Greenberg, and Coats. I don't think Restovich will be up that much longer, so Iowa will certianly have a full outfield when that happens. West Tennessee seems to be a good place for him right now.

My guess is Restovich is up until either Lee or Pagan is back. Pagan is likely a month a way...Lee longer.

Nic at one time was supposed to be a top player. Injuries have held him back, but now that he's healthy he's looking good. I'd like to see him at Iowa so we'd know what we have in him.

I'd guess he'll be replaced by someone else at some point (I don't think they're too thrilled with him), and not necessarily an outfield bat, but the current outfield setups at West Tenn and Iowa aren't too bad. It would be too crowded if he were to be promoted to Iowa. Plus, he's only been with the Diamond Jaxx for about a week. He should be facing some pretty decent pitching right now, so I don't think it's that big of an issue right now.

Berg with a good line so far: 5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, 1 HR, 1 PO. Harvey is 2-2 with a double, but Daytona only has 1 other hit and trail 1-0 in the 5th.

Berg's 1st walk of the game comes in the 6th, but that's all he allows in the 6th. Seems like the only bad pitch of the game he made was the solo shot he gave up. Daytona's offense needs to start getting it in gear here. Vero Beach's starter, however, has 9 strikeouts already.

I don't know anything about Merricks, but I believe he had an ERA over 4.50 coming into tonight and yet dominated Daytona. 5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 10 Ks. Something similar can be said for Berg, though.

Vazquez gives up an ER in relief on 3 hits. 2-0 Vero Beach.

Yeah, I have Mathes starting Sunday.

Nic Jackson has a 20-game hitting streak between Daytona and West Tenn.

Tim will be thrilled, especially after buying his jersey last week!

THAT would be a great jersey to have!
