It lists Glendon Rusch on both ESPN.com and chicagocubs.com so I want to know if any information has come out on it yet? I suspect that it's too early but we should know something by Tuesday right? I hope Dusty and Hendry make the right move and bring up Hill. Marshall was brought up and pitched well, especially in his last start against Florida. Guzman had a respectable debut as well. Why not give Hill his shot?

The Cubs will call up Hill to replace Aardsma. If Marshall can get through 6 innings they will start Hill Thursday. If Marshall makes an early exit, Hill would pitch today and Rusch starts Thursday.

This isn't based on inside info or anything like that but it's the most logical scenario.

I don't have anything going on Thursday. I'd love to toe the rubber.

And I'd rather see you than Rusch but 40 man roster limitations will likely win out.

Marshall must go long enough to save Hill. Rusch starting again the way he's pitching now simply cannot happen. It would be like forfeiting the game before it even starts.

If nothing else, send somebody down (perhaps Novoa) and call up Ryu for a spot start if Hill has to pitch tonight.

Speaking of Thursday, anyone notice who pitching for the D'Backs that day?

From Rotoworld:

Juan Cruz will remain in the Diamondbacks rotation and start Thursday against the Cubs.

Cruz looked very good on Saturday. He threw 49-of-67 pitches for strikes and allowed just one run. As long as he is in the rotation he will have value in NL-only leagues.

Dusty Tzu will not show his hand in advance so as to prevent the opposition from preparing.

In related news, Dusty would not confirm nor deny that Derrek Lee is still injured and is unavalable for a relief pitching appearance should the need arise.

Not sure how many pitches "[expletive] Mcgee" Rusch threw on Sat, but I thought one of the articles in todays papers intimated that Rusch would be used in the bullpen as early as today. Which would mean Hill would be starting on Thur and that he is not being called up as a bullpen option.

ESPN says 81.

God, our starting rotation is such junk with Z pitching badly.

This is embarrassing. When is Woody coming back again? We're in *trouble* with this thing.

Maybe we should see if there any bats in Iowa we could use too. Offense sucks.

They do have one. His name is Augie.

Augie has a 0 era as well. Maybe he can start on Thursday...
