I don't remember Mark Redman looking like this when he was with the Pirates last year.

He's on the Glendon diet.

Glendon has gradually gotten porkier, but Redman seems to have blown up over the course of one offseason. I just thought it was odd since I've never seen an athlete gain that much fat in such a short time.

I'd probably start eating myself to death too if my agent came to me and said "Dude, you wont be stuck in Pittsburgh anymore, your going to KANSAS CITY!!"

Geez, as an athlete how can you let yourself get that way? Seriously, that's pathetic. Hit up a freaking gym.

He's not fat, he's just big-boned.

You're all fatophobes.

Does it really matter if he's fat or not? I mean, what difference does it make? In this day and age, someone being fat is pretty commonplace and generally accepted. Heck, lots of people are fat and they aren't any less of a person as a result. Fat people have rights, too.

OK, I'll admit it . . . I'm a fat man. It's not a choice I made. It's just the way I was born. And I don't think I should be ridiculed because of it, even if my gut is exposed when I decide to wear my half-shirt.

Quit the fat-bashing!

(Yes, this is tongue-in-cheek. Although it's not nice to make fun of people for any reason.)
