Actually he is off to a pretty good start, especially by his standards. With tthe Twins struggling offensively, I think they might be at least a bit reluctant to deal him just yet.

 

Not a bad idea, though I wonder if he would really be any improvement offensively over Walker. His HR totals and OPS have been worse career-wise.

He wouldn't be replacing Walker, he'd be replacing Hairston or Perez. It wouldn't take much to be an improvement over those guys.

Yes and no. You know Dusty is going to get Perez and Hairston some starts regardless of where Walker is. Sure, Walker would still get the lion's share of the PT, but not as much as he will at 1B.

 

On another note, IMO Cuddyer is inferior to the other option mentioned recently, including Choi, Pena, Clark, etc.

Probably not, but he has more value when Lee returns than either of those two. Like I said before, if the injury is going to force you into a move, I'd prefer it to be someone who's still going to help you out after Lee gets back beyond a strictly PH role, since none of the options are big bats.

 

Now, if the choice is Pena as a FA on Tuesday or trading for Cuddyer, then I think you go after Pena.

 

EDIT: To expand upon Cuddyer, he's everything that Freddie Bynum's roster spot should be. Can get on base, hit for some pop, and also play all over the place.

Well considering Choi and Pena are both in the minors and Cuddyer isnt in jeopardy of getting sent down, I would say of course. However, Gardenhier seems to never want to play him. Thats why I brought his name up, I think hes attainable and serviceable.
