They'll resume that game in June when Round Rock cames back to town.

This is the first time I've tried to listen to a Daytona game this year. Has the audio quality been this poor all season or did I just have a bad connection tonite??

Yeah, both Daytona and Peoria's audio broadcasts tend to have issues from time to time.

Peoria sounds pretty good tonite. Last year it was brutal but with Gallagher, Harvey, and EP I fought thru it and listened anyway.

Ugh, Peoria was unbearable last year.

Do you have updates from Peoria tonight? MiLB.com says Peoria leads 5-4 in the 7th. Jake Muyco had a 2-run HR.

An Interview with Sean Gallagher is posted in Chats!

That was an awesome read. I would suggest posting a sticky or announcement in Baseball Discussions when a new chat is posted, or some announcement on the front page so the rest of the board can access it easier.

Grant's night is done: 3+ IP, 7 R (6 ER), 3/3. Palm Beach is blowing this game wide open - it's now 9-1 and they're still batting in the 4th.

Yuck! Grant has had a really rough go of it this year. I thought he was getting it straightened out his last outting but I guess not.

I've actually found the Peoria broadcasts to be pretty good this year. There are those weird chunks of static, but these seem less frequent than at the beginning of the year. Overall, seems better than the live365 feed last season.

In fact, I listen on milb.com instead of the radio, because out here in suburban Peoria, WOAM doesn't always come in great.

Go Chiefs!

Sorry. I turned it off when Lost came on... :D

Muyco did have a 2 run homer. Jody Davis was ejected for arguing. Mitch Adkins had a solid game going 6 giving up 3 earned with 7k..

Chiefs Score Early, Beat Dayton 6-4

Atkins moves to 2-0, Chirinos’ hit streak at 7

Dayton, OH – The Peoria Chiefs scored five runs early and held off the Dayton Dragons for a 6-4 win Wednesday night at Fifth Third Field in Dayton. With the win the Chiefs snap a four game road losing streak and are back at .500 with a 10-10 record, two games out of first place.

The Chiefs wasted no time in getting to Dragons starter Jeff Stevens, a 6th round pick last June. Robinson Chirinos singled to start the game, went to second on a wild pitch and stole third with one out. Jesus Valdez drew a walk and Kevin Collins singled to score Chirinos for a 1-0 Chiefs lead. Ryan Norwood’s groundout to first scored Valdez and moved Collins into scoring position. Alberto Garcia made it 3-0 with a RBI single to center before Stevens got out of the inning.

With a 3-0 lead into the 4th, the Chiefs mounted a two-out rally against Stevens. Brandon Taylor started the rally with a single up the middle and Muyco capitalized with a two-run homer just over the left field wall for a 5-0 Peoria advantage.

Dayton began to chip away in the bottom of the 4th with a pair of singles and a long triple off the bat of BJ Szymanski. Trailing 5-2, the Dragons received help from the umpires in the 5th inning. Leadoff batter Craig Tatum flew out to center but Matt Ciaramella was ruled to have dropped the ball before securing the out. Chiefs Manager Jody Davis was tossed from the game for arguing the call which was not overturned. After back to back groundout, Mike Griffin singled and Tatum scored to cut the lead to 5-3.

After having the lead cut to 5-4, the Chiefs scored one back in the 7th. Matt Ciaramella led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Ciaramella scored on a single by Valdez that bounced off reliever Bo Lanier’s leg and into right-field.

Chiefs starter Mitch Atkins tossed six innings allowing three earned runs on five hits. He tied a career high and set a season high with seven strikeouts. Jeff Teasley allowed two hits and two walks while striking out one in his two innings of relief. Teasley’s ERA is now 0.73 on the season. Ed Campusano tossed a perfect 9th inning to pick up his fifth save in as many chances.

Pepsi Player of the Game

Jesus Valdez (RF) – The Chiefs outfielder was 3-for-3 with a walk, run scored, stolen base and RBI. Valdez walked and scored in the 3-run first and drove home Ciaramella in the 7th for his team leading 12th RBI if the season.

Notes… Robinson Chirinos hit streak is now at seven games after a 1st inning single…Atkins was called for a balk, his second of the season…Muyco homered once in 37 games at Boise last season…Peoria is scheduled to face rehabbing pitcher Paul Wilson of the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday…LH Donald Veal (1-2) will start for the Chiefs…Wilson is expected to throw 100 pitches…Game time Thursday night is 7:00 Eastern Time/6:00 Central Time…The broadcast begins with the pre-game show on http://www.peoriachiefs.com at 5:45 PM Central Time.

Harvey just walked and got an RBI out of it as the bases were loaded. Who knows, maybe he's starting to get the message?!? Of course, it is 11-2, not in favor of the cubs...
