It is official.

Wood will be starting Sunday night in Peoria.

This is from a very reliable source (not that you care or believe me).

But I will be there Sunday, see you guys there!

I believe you. and I care. But I won't see you there. I wonder if there will be a way to get pitch by pitch results.

You could probably listen to the game over the internet.

ESPNews said Wood might be back May 17th.

That would put him in line to make a 2nd minor-league start somewhere (for Iowa?) on the 12th.

Which would turn Principal Park into a zoo again. To make things worse, it rained like crazy the last time he was there. A normal crowd gathering in the concourse would be enough fun; a Kerry Wood rehab crowd gathering in the concourse is madness defined.

It wont matter to much if we get Prior, Wood, and Miller back we will still lose due to the sad fact that we cant score runs. I am excited about seeing Wood again even though I dont think he will win many games behind this offense.

That made me laugh for some reason.

Wood and Prior are better hitters than some of the guys grabbing bats now, it could help......

LoL... I do think that Prior is a better hitter than JJ, definantly could hit left handers better.

Cue NLDS double and NLCS homer. Both which give me chills re-watching them.

Our offense is below average, but it isn't as bad as it is right now either. Trust me, we are just in a bad slump. I've seen worse. I remember a POST-Nomar Cubs series in 2004 when we scored just 2 runs (all in one inning) in a three game series against the Brewers. This feast or famine is not new to the Cubs.

Apparently when you take away the home runs and add a bunch of speed to the Cubs old feast or famine offense...you just get the famine part.

Speed doesn't slump....

Yeah, this is no longer a feast and famine offense, it's a mid-afternoon snak and famine offense.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Wood will be in Des Moines on the 12th for his second rehab start. Assuming (and God willing) everything goes well with his first start.

Unfortunately, I won't be in attendance. I have prior commitments that I can't break. Key word is commitments there because if I only had one, I wouldn't feel bad about breaking it.

According to Cubs.com, Wood will throw 70-80 pitches tomorrow night. Prior threw 30 pitches off the mound and will throw more pitches on Tuesday. Miller is back on his program.
