Damn it. This looks like one of those days where the Cubs decide not to score runs for their Cy Young contender. (see: Prior, Mark: 2003 and Zambrano, Carlos: 2005)

It's only the third inning? I still stand by my prediction that the Cubs score 6 today.

Can someone tell me this: what is the point of having fast guys that can steal bases if you're going to sacrifice them over?

You stole my post. I was just going to say, if you're going to bunt him over, take a couple pitches and see if the fast, basestealing specialist can steal 2nd before you do it.

So we sacrafice with our best average hitter (to date this year) so that the all time worst offensive player in the history of baseball could get a chance to drive Pagan in....yeah...that makes sense.

Sorry to hear that. Nothing like a Cubs win to take the edge off.

ask Dusty. he's a major league manager, so he obviously knows more than we do.

Are you WATCHING the game?

Are any of you who are assuming Dusty called the sacrifice watching the game?

Worst offensive player ever is an overstatement. Worst offensive starting position player, probably, but I think Macias was probably worse, and I'm sure some others can be found.

I was posting while you said that. I'm watching on MLV.TV and Brenly said it looked like cedeno did it on his own. Sorry i had to post it 3 times but everyone keeps posting that dusty called a sacrifice.

I was just going from that list that everyone was talking about the other day...I think it was cited in the Sports Guy's column...something like that...maybe on baseball prospectus...either way...it had Neifi as the worst active player and 3rd on the list for worst all time...mayb there was a "starting position player" qualification....either way...you never bunt somone over to rely on neifi to get them in.

That's pretty much what I was saying.
