His obvious strengths are all physical traits. He doesn't have much polish on his basketball skill. I think his physical gifts will allow for him to be, as I said, at best, a plus defender with little offensive skill. I won't believe in any offensive game outside of putbacks and garbage dunks until I see him make shots from midrange and beyond in a game situation.

His physical gifts are off the charts and allow for a sky's-the-limit ceiling. Did you see him dominate in the NCAA's? You seem to be projecting him to take a step back with NBA coaching.

Don't you think there's a big difference between dominating NCAA frontcourts and NBA frontcourts?

He has to add at least 15-20 pounds no doubt about it, but his athleticism will make him a force at the very least on the defensive end. His mid range game is pretty good as well.

Hilarious.

I do, which is why tools and scouts opinions and individual workouts are important.

All bets are off if Bargnani is available at 2 however.

I haven't heard his name connected to the Bulls for a month at least. Seems kinda odd to me. I like Bargnani's potential a lot. The Bulls don't seem too, though. That, or they're laying low, trying to convince Toronto they can draft down a few spots and still draft Bargnani.

Brandon Roy dominated NCAA backcourts, but isn't there a big difference between the NCAA and the NBA?

He has the most potential of anyone in this draft. He doesn't seem to "fit" to me in Toronto. If I was Toronto, I would at least try to trade down a few spots (ie 4th or 6th, the Hawks are dead set on wasting their pick again) and taking Roy, Gay, or Morrison. That is their true need. They don't need another hybrid four.

Hey now. I conceded that you were better informed, and I hope I'm wrong. I just personally don't see how he can be an impact player anywhere but defensively.

Villanueva's name pops up a lot in the rumor mill. The Bulls would never do it, but drafting Roy and trading Hinrich for Charlie could work out well for both teams. I think the Raptors want more of a true PG for him than Gordon.

You seemed to be arguing both sides is all. From Tyrus hasn't spent enough time in college ball to prove he's an elite prospect to college ball is too far away from the NBA to prove anything.

I'd much rather do Gordon for Frye than Hinrich for Villenueava.

I think the first trade is more realistic, also.

I don't think either trade is likely. I'd be shocked to see the Bulls and Knicks make another deal this off season, and, as I've said, I think Isiah only parts with Frye as part of a package for a superstar, like KG.

Part of that has to do with me trying to type a coherent argument while distracted by work. :D

Until he proves otherwise, I'll always assume Isiah is prone to the irrational.

I don't even think the Knicks have the cap space to get a guy like KG at this point. Frye is a nice guy with some upside, but given their current draft pick and talent status, I'm really doubtful as to the Knicks' trading abilities at this point. Isaiah botched things really, really, really badly.

You're also assuming Paxson is looking to move Gordon. We've been down this path twice already, at least.

They'd have to package Frye with two of their ball-hog perimiter guys (Richardson, Rose, Crawford, Starbury, and Francis) in order to make room for KG.

Yeah, it would need to be a multi-team trade most likely, and I don't think Minnesota is trading KG. Just a for instance.

Yes, I am making that assumption. If Pax's interest in Roy is genuine, the assumption is very plausible.

You think it's going to happen? I don't.

I didn't say I think it would happen. I'm saying it could, and I would not be shocked if it did happen. If Isiah is truly enamored with Ben, he may give up Frye in order to get him. Frye is exactly what this team needs.

Let's look at what I wrote....

"You think it's going to happen?"

So I didn't say you said anything. I asked you a question and you didn't answer it.

The only place I've read about a Gordon for Frye trade is on this board. The Knicks front office can't keep a secret. I would be shocked if it did happen.

In all fairness to Mark_R, I have heard some rumors from various sources that the Bulls might trade Gordon in the offseason. Some of those sources are more credible than others, but there does seem to be something possibly happening with Gordon on the horizon.

For example, the NY Post or one of those rags said that Pax was going to trade Gordon to the Knicks for one of their "talented guards", but that led to a hilarious response from Paxson who basically ripped the Knicks and that paper a new one for even suggesting that.

Yeah, I posted that here along with Paxson's comments. Another reason why I think a Bulls-Knicks trade is really unlikely this offseason. I suspect there are some lingering hard feelings over the Curry deal on both sides.

Wouldn't surprise me. However, there are plenty of other teams around the league who the Bulls could trade with. One team I've been hearing a decent amount recently is the Lakers.

Yeah, I've heard the Odom for Roy rumors. I don't think Lamar fits the Skiles' mold.
