The look on Jim Thome's face when he saw that thing floating in was pretty good though.

He didn't know what the hell was going on.

Did you see how out of shape he was?

Wow. And I thought our pitchers needed to follow better offseason conditioning programs.

C.C. Sabathia just left the game.

So much for my fantasy team...

My God....gotta love this board. At least nobody here criticizes too much or jumps to conclusions. He (gasp) might actually miss a start or TWO!! The horror....

I have Jermaine Dye on my team. I think he's going to hit 1.000 all year long....that should really help the overall average.

Let's keep the discussions of the fantasy ramifications in the fantasy forum and keep this thread about real-life ramifications.

It affects my money league, too .... but astonishingly, I'm the only person here who is interested in that league. :)

Almost looked as though it was in his hip or his ribcage.

It looked like he was grabbing his right rib cage, which is quite an odd injury for a lefty.

I think he just ruptured the implants he got in the offseason....

And yes Sabathia is on my fantasy team as well so it shouldnt be too surprising he'd be the first injury of the year...

Well, I had placed a bet for a can of Dr. Pepper with a friend of mine that I would bet that Colon would be the first one to get injured, and he said C.C. would be the first one. I wasn't suprised by his choice, becuase I think either one of those two guys would get hurt. Ah, oh well, time to pony up 35 cents for a can of Dr. Pepper at work.

He is so fat. Though it looks like it works in his advantage cause hes whipping the 280 lbs at the plate.

Looks like a strained right abdominal muscle for Sabathia

Chicago- A quiet spring training turned into a sinister clap of thunder Sunday night in the Indians' season opener at U.S. Cellular Field.

No. 1 starter C.C. Sabathia left the game with a strained right abdominal muscle after throwing 37 pitches. Sabathia suffered a similar injury last spring training and missed six weeks
