Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of California go this way:

Erstad, CF

Alfonzo, 2B

Anderson, LF

Salmon, DH

Mathis, C

McPherson, 3B

Morales, 1B

Pride, RF

Wood, SS

Colon, P

Is this a split squad for the Angels today, Bruce? Thanks for all of the info. Any talk on the waiver wire, i.e., what type of player Hendry is on the lookout for?

(And Bruce has left the building before I could submit my post ... my stupid job obligations. They just don't pay me enough to keep me from distracting myself with reading and yammering about Cubs baseball.)

It's not a split squad for the Angels, but I do believe some have broken camp already for a split squad tomorrow at San Francisco.

I don't see any major moves. The Cubs feel someone like Bynum might even make the A's.

What about the rumor we've heard of Kielty?

I haven't heard it in Cubs camp.

Thanks. I do think he'd make a great 4th OF if the A's wanted to deal him.

If Im not mistaken Nefi has had just as crappy a spring as Cedeno. they are both batting around .200 arent they?

Neifi at .280 with 3 dingers.

ah my bad they were both hitting around .200 6 days ago, I had to find some more recent numbers. Nefi is hitting .294 coming into today and Cedeno .229. I guess Nefi is not so bad as long as they keep him batting 7th or 8th. Id rather see them keep running Cedeno out there though, I think he will get it figured out.

Looks like the offense is actually pretty much what we will see during the season minus Cedeno and Barrett hopefully. This is the first time I can remember seeing this many regulars in the lineup and it looks like they are producing today. (stats courtesy of USAtoday.com)

"Kerry Wood and Mark Prior went on the DL and Marquis Grissom retired yesterday, so it wasn't a banner day for the Cubs."

Wood and Prior to the DL was old news. Why are all these baseball people so late to the story? And Grissom retiring was a wonderful thing.

3 runs on 5 hits, don't know the details. Zambrano is in the process of walking Erstad.
