I hate doing this, but I coughed up $100 bucks to be in this league, so I'm gonna be pretty dedicated to it. It's a 13 (wierd, I know) team roto league, 6x6 (the standard plus OBP and L). What do you guys think?

C - Barrett

1B - Berkman

2B - Giles

SS - Lugo

3B - Cabrera

OF - Abreu

OF - Giles

OF - Drew

Util - Gomes

Bench - Shelton

Bench - Biggio

Bench - Monroe

SP - Harden

SP - Buehrle

SP - Schilling

RP - F. Cordero

RP - T. Jones

P - Valverde

P - Weathers

Bench - Lackey

Bench - Seo

Bench - Escobar

Bench - Madson

I had the last pick, so by the time I was up the second time, all my aces were gone...so I tried to take a good amount of solid pitchers, but I would love to have a bona fide ace. I also have a lot of variability w/ OF (Berkman and Cabrera are eligible), but I would have liked to get someone like Hall who can play many IF positions.

You do have a bonfide ace. His name is Rich Harden. Mark Buehrle is also pretty close and Schilling could be as well. You got a pretty good team in my opinion. Should be a top team.

Alright, so Lugo's on the DL, so I picked up Cedeno. It was either him, Hanley Ramirez or the 2B/SS from Seattle...I forgot his name.

I feel like I have too many OFs. Would you try to deal Abreu, Giles, Drew, Gomes, Shelton (open up Util for an OF), or Monroe? The problem is I feel like Abreu is the only one who isn't underrated...I'm trying to get Orlando Cabrera for either Biggio or Monroe...but I'd like to upgrade Lugo by dealing an OF. What do you guys think?

Try to trade Shelton while he's hot. He's a good player, but I don't think his value will ever be higher, especially without alot of protection in that lineup.

I think it's too early to try and trade Shelton. If you go out pursuing a trade now, people will know you're trying to take advantage of his hot streak. You're best off waiting a month or so before trying to deal him when people will be more convinced of his true ability.

Dusty factor alone is why I would probably have picked up Hanley Ramirez over Cedeno.

Yeah, I almost picked up Ramirez...but Cedeno has had a couple good games in a row. Unfortunately I forgot Ramirez hit's leadoff and can run. It's probably not that big a deal just because I'm trying to get a shortstop, I will probably only get 10 games out of him. It's a 13 team league, do you think anyone would have any interest in Monroe?

Alright...so Lugo got hurt, and I've been tryin' to get another SS. Now, I wanted someone who was versatile and could play a couple different positions. However, I just got proposed a trade of JD Drew for Furcal. I took Drew in the 12th round, he took Furcal in the 5th, and I have almost no SB threat. Is this deal too good to be true? I can just slide Jonny Gomes into my OF. Is there any reason NOT to make this deal?

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Drew is a trip to the DL waiting to happen. Furcal should give good offense as well as a bunch of stolen bases. Unless there's an injury concern about Furcal (I haven't paid that much attention), I'd jump all over that offer before the other owner comes to his senses and withdraws it.

Agreed. I'd take Furcal for Drew. Outfielders are easier to find on the free agent wire than SS are.

I proposed Brian Giles for him, and he countered with Drew...interesting, cuz I'd rather have Giles, especially considering OBP counts in this league and pickups are limited. Drew will probably get hurt anyway.

This seems a lot like what just happened to me. I'm in a 16 team league and drafted Nomar late as a sort of high risk/reward pick. Needless to say, put him on the DL and picked up Hanley Ramirez to replace him. Then I realize someone in my league drafted Jose Reyes, Jimmy Rollins, and Orlando Cabrera so I tried to work out a trade with him. I saw his pitching was really weak so I offered Tim Hudson and Nomar for Rollins and Hielman. He basically ignored it so I sent him an email asking what he wanted for his shortstops. He sends back Hudson for Cabrera, which I rejected and said I really wanted Reyes or Rollins, so he offers Rollins for Beckett and Nomar. I jumped on it of course. It may not be as big of a steal as yours but I felt I capitalized on Beckett's hot start pretty well.

Hopefully you had Cedeno starting sherwood921.

I did, but now that I'm getting Furcal, and I will have Lugo as a backup, I just traded him for Conor Jackson. Essentially...I traded Drew for Furcal and Jackson, since I picked up Cedeno just a couple days ago.

Someone dropped Brad Wilkerson the other day, and he's made it through waivers (I have first priority, so I wasn't going to waste it). I have an empty spot for now (Todd Jones-DL), but eventually would drop Craig Monroe, or Biggio. Is it worth picking him up? We only get 18 pickups over the course of the season.

I wouldn't, not yet anyways.
