Marshall could be a Diamond in the rough. From everything I have heard, this kid is the real deal.

He's always been highly thought of, but his shoulder and finger injuries are puzzling and have made it hard to get a read on the guy. He's got the talent to be quite good, but it's just a matter of continuing his development and keeping his injuries to a minimum.

Cedeno

0-0 pops up right side and Hart runs out of room

0-1 fastball at the letters

0-2 pickoff throw (close) but Murton's back safe

0-2 drive to DEEEEP LEFT

HR CEDENO,

2-0 Cubs

Now that is something i want to see a lot of this year....young guys getting it done. Go Cedeno!

Rich Hill completely dominated AA and AAA last year for 20 starts.

Too bad the Minors aren't the Major League. Doesn't really matter what he does in AA or AAA what counts is what he does vs. major league hitters. He had a golden opportunity to crack the Cubs staff this year and he hasn't shown he can handle the Majors yet. It's all about control...

He still gave up 3 walks and he didn't start yesterday. Time he came in he was facing minor league hitting.

I really like the little bit of Marshall I saw in the first televised game of the spring, but that funky windup of his will lead to arm problems.

Are you talking about spring training? How many major league hitters does anyone face in a spring training game? Plus you don't get to see anyone more than twice a game(probably not even that). My point wasn't to make a definitive statement, just to point out that a small sample of spring training(which comes against wildly different competition) doesn't/shouldn't outweigh the player's track record. Marshall is a very good prospect, and I'm very excited about his performance this spring, but he's hardly pitched above Daytona at all.

Jenkins grounds to Cedeno, who flips to Walker for the force at 2B.

Through 2 and 1/2, it's 2-0 Cubs. Pierre will lead off next half-inning.

I thought Hairston was playing 2B today?
