Center fielder David DeJesus has agreed to a five-year guaranteed contract for $13.8 million through 2010.

In addition, the club holds an option for 2011 that could raise the total package to about $20 million.

Yeah. I wonder if it was just lighting in the bottle deal though, the 03, since the Royals, as a team, literally contended the AL Central before falling apart in September. Since then, the Royals haven't sniffed even 3rd place, if I am not mistaken.
