Well, gentelman and ladies? What do you think?

He looked pretty damn good against the Giant scrubs yesterday.

His future is as a starting pitcher.. no question about it.

Was that wicked curve he was throwing yesterday, something he has had for awhile or is it something he is working on this year?

With the movement he was getting on his pitches and his reported velocity and command, it is hard to see why he is not talked about more.

I'm pretty sure someone answered this before but why didn't RYU make the Korean WBC team? Do they really have that many pitchers that are better?

I don't know how many are better, but most are older, and considerably so. Ryu is 22, and the only name I see on the roster born after him is Byung Doo Jun, a small lefty (one of only 3 on the roster). Half of their pitchers are major leaguers. I'm not sure if any others are playing in the American minor leagues, but I'm guessing most of the others are establish "veterans" in their own league which could help their management team build more faith in their abilities.

I love Ryu. Look at those guns!

I heard about that bird story. Can't remember too many details, but it seems he was chunking balls at its nest, which was atop a light pole, and whacked it. Was it an endangered specie or am I crazy?

It was an osprey. They weren't endangered at the time (not sure about now), but they were recognized by Florida as a bird of special concern.

There were actually two ospreys, Ozzie and Harriett (I don't recall which one Ryu hit). I believe an autopsy revealed that the one he killed had some type of disease anyway, although I may be thinking of something else. I remember the Cubs decided they couldn't keep him at Daytona after the incident, so they sent him back down to Lansing for the rest of that season, then jumped him up to West Tenn the next year. I believe he got a fine and community service but no jail time.

The one he killed officially made them endangered

Ohhhh yeah. I remember this. I thought we were talking Randy Johnson-esque bird killing.

Considering that his name was mentioned along with Hill, Guzman and Marshall's as possible 5th starters now that Prior will start the season on the DL, I think Ryu would have to still be considered a starter.
