I agree with that. That's what I was looking for. Who doesn't think that the Domincan team is the best?

Can someone compile or link me too the projected lineup and rotations for some of the better teams? I've got to run to class, and it's really hard to tell from the ginormous rosters. I will say that the US probably has the best pitching depth, which may be underrated in this tourney.

Dude look at there line-up! That's why im asking who could give them a run for there money?

The US is pretty stacked. Venezuela's pitching staff gives me the heebie-jeebies. Puerto Rico should be tough. Don't count out Japan or Korea, and Cuba has historically been full of talent.

Basically, anyone could give them a run for THEIR money.

I don't think the Dominicans are the obvious choice. Their lineup may be better, but I think the US certainly has the better pitchers. Venezuela might even have better pitchers than the Dominican.

Those are the provisional rosters, not the final rosters. The actual rosters will be cut down to 30 players who will be eligible to play in the tournament. I'd think that the final rosters would be out soon considering it starts on Friday.

I know I agree that they are the other two ligitamate teams in the tourney. That's why I asked to see what you guys thought?

But the way you phrased your question and stated the topic implies that the DR is the best team and your looking for challengers.

In reality, I don't think the DR is the best team or even the favorite. I'd say the U.S. team is the best team, but in reality the DR and Venezuelan teams look very good as well. I don't think there is a favorite out of those three teams.

Agree to Disagree. The Dominican team has the best line-up and one of the better rotations. The US has the best rotation, but not as strong of a lineup in my eyes. The Venezula team is probably the third best team, but I don't think as good as the other two. It depends what you think matters in a short tourney like this great pitching and good hitting or unbelievable hitting and good pitching. We'll see what happens in a few days.

Problem is Venezuela and DR are in the same starting bracket, so should be some early fireworks.

I think the way the U.S. has constructed their bullpen will make it very tough if the starter leaves with a lead.

They'll be able to bring in a different reliever for each inning and many of these guys are shut-down closers like Cordero, Lidge, and Wagner.

The U.S. line-up is very potent in itself.

I also think the U.S. team is more balanced. The DR team is a little weak at catcher, where the US team is not.

Where the DR team is a little stronger offensively, the U.s team is much stronger in pitching, especially if Pedro is unable to go for the DR team.

Venezula is a good team don't let me wrong, but I think the Dominican team is better.

Compare the rotations. The DR doesn't have much beyond Pedro. After Pedro, you have Daniel Cabrera, Bartolo Colon and Odalis Perez. Those guys don't even remotely compare to Zambrano, Santana and King Felix.
