While it's possible that Greenberg and Fontenot might appear in a big league game again in the next year or two, those are two guys whose fantasy interst is zero. If Fontenot does return to the majors, it will most likely be in a context where he's the 25th man as result of injury and gets as little playing time as he did last year; or as the 33rd man on an expanded September roster, but not a guy a manager will ever actually want to be playing.

Greenberg probably the same sort of thing, although he's got a shot to make it as a guy a manager might actually intentionally want as a late inning defensive replacement. Just in case a fantasy league gives big points for playing left field for an inning or two!

If just getting onto a roster is at issue, I think Soto actually has a very good chance. Teams almost always like to call up a 3rd catcher in september when rosters expand. The regular catchers are often pretty shot by then, so if/when you're out of the race, to be able to give them a break sometimes makes sense. Assuming you bring up several extra pitchers, having a 3rd catcher to take up some of their throwing on the side makes sense. And if one of your two real catchers get hurt, it's nice to have a 3rd guy around. Especially once the minor-league season is done, because otherwise the 3rd catcher might be getting rusty and might be hard to contact if one of your first two get hurt.

So I'd be surprised if Soto doesn't return to the majors either this year or next year or both. May not get more than the 1 AB he got last year, but I expect he'll be a name on the roster in some upcoming Septembers.

I'd probably also add Nieve from Houston. He could be competing with Hirsch for a spot in the rotation. Also a lot of people seem to think Alex Gordon 3B, KC, may not be far away from being ready as well.
