Only if I was Team B, although Cabrera is going to suffer from having a Neifi-like leadoff hitter in front of him this season.

Drew could be solid if healthy. Mussina isn't good for much. Giles would be great if you had a league scoring OBP.

I think you mean Ron Belliard. And that trade greatly favors the dude getting Miggy.

As would most trades involving young Miguel.

I look at this trade from the standpoint of:

JD Drew and Miggy Cabrera for Brian Giles and Mike Mussina.

Rest is pretty much throwaway junk (though Loretta is sort of an upgrade from Belliard if he stays healthy, especially in that offense), and Casey is just an abysmal first base option.

I am Team A. I would be substituting Cabrera in the OF for Giles, who I'd be losing. My outfield would then be Cabrera, Abreu, and Carlos Beltran. JD Drew would compete with Chad Tracy and David Delucci to be the Utility hitter in the lineup. (Why not play Cabrera at 3rd? I have David Wright at 3rd already...not a bad problem to have!) Loretta replaces Belliard (yes Ron, not Rafael lol). I have #1 waiver priority and Jose Vidro was just cut...would you drop Loretta for him, or would you drop a pitcher like Loaiza? Or, do you just not pick up the injury-riddled Vidro?

I'd lose Mussina, but I've got Mulder, Hudson, Sheets, Beckett, Millwood, and Loaiza as my other starters.

Given that information, is it a good deal for me?

If you've got number one waiver priority, don't waste it on a guy like Vidro who isn't much better than the guy you already have.

I"m curious, how many teams are in your league?

Loretta in Fenway is throw away junk? I beg to differ. Hitting second behind Coco Crisp and in front of Ramirez and Ortiz and Nixon makes for one of the most explosive offenses in baseball. I think Loretta will be at or above .380 OBP, which could lead to 130+ runs scored this year. I'd jump all over Miggy, Drew and Loretta.

Maybe Rafael and his career .221/.270/.259/.529 line are making a comeback.

Thought that might have been a misprint, so I looked it up.

The trade has been made. Imagine a team with a murderer's row of Beltran-Helton-Cabrera-Abreu-Wright!

Should be a great fantasy season for me in this league, barring major injuries.

Wow, you were able to trade for the 1st 5 picks in the draft? :D
