From June-August, this summer... I will be going to Pakistan, my home country. That means, I will most of the season...

THANK GOD FOR TEH INTRAWEB!! Anyway, I was wondering.... What is the best package I can get so I can see all Cubs games?

From what I see, they dont show any details right now... The only thing they're selling is a WBC package.

No CSN or WGN in Pakistan? Sheesh, ESPN's gotta be there.

They might? I have no clue. It's not likely they'd pick up a local channel from Chicago, and crappy CSN... ESPN, yeah... but really, how many Cubs games does that show? I'd hesitate to watch it anyway because of two egos: Joe, Morgan. I'm not looking for score... I want live games.

Do they monitor/block any Internet sites out there?

Heh, I'm guessing not. It's probably the least government-protected country that consists of mostly muslims.

If all you want is live (and archived) full games, last year you could buy just MLB.TV for about $80. For $100, you could get their All Access package that would also let you watch condensed games (each AB with a hit/out) and also got you audio only included. I rarely used the condensed game, or box scores liked to video highlights - MLB.TV was enough. But if you are also going to get audio only for the $15 or so, you might as well go for the whole package. I have no idea what the prices are this year, but I have to say that I'd pay a lot more than last year as I watched 100+ games via the internet.

All Access is seperate from .Tv?

Gotta say, I know absolutely nothing about Pakistani TV. I would guess MLB.TV would probably be your best bet. I really don't know of any other online options.

Personally, I dont know much either. I've lived here for 10 years with a 2 month vacation in 1998-99 so yeah...

Yes. TV was included in All Access (along with audio, and the other specials).

But with the $80, only audio was included? Or only TV was included?

Sorry,

Audio (wgn radio or road radio) $15

TV $80

Both TV and radio and extras $100

Aright, thanks!

(Will TV include the option to choose to watch it from the Cubs broadcast or the opponents?)

Unless they're changing it this year, they only carry one television broadcast per game. I'd imagine that works out to roughly 50% of the games being Cubs telecasts.

If you're only gonna be there for 3 months I think you're better off getting it by the month, which I believe was $12.99 last year.

That's not a bad price.

Probably what I'll be doing in England until July comes around. When are they gonna put this stuff up? Oh, and since we're overseas, we don't get any blackout dates. :D

I don't think so - I think they just broadcast the one, at least that's how it worked last year. You can get Spanish commentary, though, for some games.

Works well for me, BWKB. However the early mornings afterwards don't. (I curse the West Coast dates)

I had the package last year and it seemed like 65-75% were Cub telecasts. Not sure why is what that way.

Speaking of which, I don't see any international stuff on the MLB.TV website...I assume they put something up like that later in the year where you fill in your country? (And probably get charged in pounds?)

I have paid for the MLB.TV subscription for 2 years. For last year I got both the radio broadcast and TV broadcasts.

Unless the radically upgrade the feeds I would not buy MLB.TV. The picture is choppy and unless you have a really powerfull computer it will freeze or go black and you will have to reload. In addition, sometimes you will get the other team's broadcasters and they can be brutal. I am talking to you Joe Buck and Al Hirbosky.

I don't know what the service is like in Pakistan so if I were I would get the radio package. I have not had any trouble with it at all and you get to listen to Pat and Ron every game as an added bonus.

Definitely cool if you can get it with no blackout dates.

I tried MLB.TV once, and nearly every Cub game was blacked out in Milwaukee & Madison. Never got an answer why. My ZIP code was never on any of their "lists" and when I called they were extremely unhelpful.

I went away thinking "to hell with this crap." I'll never try it again.

I think I just went through the normal way, and it charged me in dollars. That was part of the reason I did it - $12.99 is about £7.50, not bad for a month.
