I'm still going to have to go after 4 tickets to a Cubs/Cards game in July or August, but other than maybe a value game depending on my birthday, I don't plan on buying any tickets in advance this year.

go to cubs.com and look at the 5th news headline on the front page (where you can pick between 1-6). you have to REGISTER with cubs.com to purchase tickets on the 24th?! what's this all about?

You think bleacher seats will still be available once they go on sale online or do those generally go pretty quickly for Cards games?

I think they're just trying to simplify the confirmation process and make it tougher for people who try to purchase more than the maximum amount of tickets. That'd be my guess at least.

They go relatively quickly, but not a very high number of tickets actually get sold in those first two hours. Those bleacher tickets are definitely around for a while, just not necessarily for the Saturday games or until it gets much easier to get through the VWR. Of course, that was before the additional bleacher seats.

It looks like that's just to simplify things, but it wouldn't hurt to do it in advance.

I was checking out spring training tickets for both Cubs games and another team's game and they asked me to register. I assumed that since I registered when I used to buy the gameday audio that would still work, and it did.

i'll be passing on this crap this year.

i'm taking the day off from work....and ltb, that's just plain old bad luck....the key is to open a dump load of windows or tabs.

I am taking that day off too. I just hope making you have a cubs.com account won't hinder the opening multiple browser trick. I was able to get 8 games last year. It took me until 5:00 PM to get these.

Also I like this message board. It took it a while before I was allowed to post here for some reason.

Tickets.com will disable CTRL-N to open new browsers when Cubs tickets go on sale. It won't be impossible to open multiple browser windows, but it will be harder than it was last year.

I'm definitely taking the day off. My employer gives us our birthday off anyway, and my birthday is just a few days before the onsale, so I'm going to take my birthday late this year.

I have been shut out the past two years for Cubs tickets the first day they go on sale online. Prior to that, I was always able to get tickets to at least two Cards/Cubs series each year.

Last season I ended up calling the box office in August on a whim, and ended up getting seats right behind the Cards bullpen for the clinching game on Sat.
