While that release is nice and all, I think any story about K-Gonz should mention the fact that he booted a tailor-made double play ball in 2003. Just for a sense of history is all.

It could also be mentioned that he's been on, like, four teams since July 30, 2004. Clearly the man has a problem sticking.

No one is more relieved that Bartman reached for that foul ball than KGonz.

K-Gonz has really fallen down the food chain, so to speak. He was at least a serviceable #7-8 hitter and good defender at SS, now he's a backup 3b/SS on teams like TB and Philly. He did have some big time hits, i remember those VERY well.

3 game-winning homers in a week to tie the SEASON record early in 2003. Then he hit a 4th that Geoff Jenkins pulled back into the park against Milwaukee in that 16-inning marathon that CPatt eventually won with a homer. That was a fun day. :)

That entire season (minus a few games against FLA in the playoffs) was a blast. That whole team looked like they actually WANTED to be out there, unlike the team we saw at times last year. We need some of that emotion back on the field...and a little better physical talent than that club had. (Come on, Karros? K-Gonz?)

I thought the title was refering to Luis Gonzalez.

Luis Gonzalez Arizona Diamondbacks Outfielder

Luis Gonzalez Colorado Rockies Second Baseman

Luis Gonzalez Seattle Mariners Relief Pitcher

Which one?

I live in Arizona, thought there might have been a trade and the media calls him Gonzo.

I hate you Alex. Best wishes in Philly though.

Not to bring up the ghosts of 2003, but it has always bothered me that more blame is placed on the "Bartman ball" for the Cubs losing the NLCS than Gonzalez forgetting how to field.

If Bill Buckner and Leon Durham are immortalized for their mind-boggling ball handling, why is it that Gonzalez gets a free pass from the national media? GAH! Stupid Gonzalez!

I'll never forget how A-Gonzalez hit during the playoffs. The boot was a damned shame for a guy who brought a good glove every day.

It is weird how he went from light hitting/smooth fielding during the season to heavy hitting/monumental error in the post season.

That's baseball!

I thought losing Game 7 of the playoffs was what cost the pennant. Best of 7 games, right? Not best of 6 games? If they'd won Game 7, wouldn't they have won the pennant?
