Didn't we blow a big lead in Aug of 2001? Right after picking up McGriff?

 

Day of the trade, the Cubs had the best record in the NL at 60-42. 4 games up on the Stros, 8.5 on the Cards. They went 28-32 from then on, losing 13.5 games to the Cards and 9 to the Stros to finish 5 games back in the Central/Wild Card.

I know if the Cubs won the WS ever, I'd go right back to complaining the first loss of the next season. I'm just not a very content sports fan. Being in Red Sox nation for 6 years and then this, I'm sick of hearing about these "what would you dos" just go out there and freakin do it.
