On cubs.com, they have the projected lineup for opening day. Todd Walker was listed as our second baseman. Thought everyone might like to know that. Hope it's true.

So this means Wood is definitely a no go to be ready for opening day?

This was writeen by Carrie Muskat, so it probably means nothing. I don't think there is any new news about Wood in this article, and I kind of doubt Carrie Muskat knows that much that we don't.

If Carrie Muskat filled out the lineup card I'd be relieved about this. But no, Dusty is still at that job.

He damn well better be if he's still on the roster. Ahh, there's nothing like trying to unload your better offensive players when offense has been such a weakness of late...

Hope she's right? Why? That's a 4th place lineup you're looking at.

I don't know, when compared to last year's lineup, I think it's better. Corey or Neifi aren't leading off or in the lineup at all. Murton's in it for hopefully the full season.

Pierre>Patterson or Neifi leading off

Jones=Burnitz(in my opinion, and could be even better if he returns to pre-2005 numbers)

Cedeno>Neifi

I'm guessing Dusty thinks they signed John MAYBERRY.

Speaking of John Mayberry, what's going on with his son? I believe he was a very high draft pick within the last few drafts. Never heard if he signed or went back to school (if that was even an option). Haven't heard a thing about him.

I'm trying to keep a little optimism here, but alas I cannot seem to get much traction....

I hope you are right. Still though, I see 3 teams in our division who look better than us right now (could change, hopefully it does or hopefully I'm wrong).
