First of all, I'm almost positive there aren't as many 'value' dates as there were last year. Coicidentally, there aren't any value or regular value games after May and before I leave for school in August.

I don't remember it being this bad last year. Not only did ticket prices go up, they made cheaper ones less available. :?

Oh well. Upper Deck here I come. :x

Also, how come other teams have convinient packages like 20 game tickets or half season, or different weekend deals or something. All the cubs have is season (which is full) and single game tickets. It's seriously bogus.

Other teams don't have the cubs demand/availibility.

It's all about wrigley being small/cubs fan base being large

It's almost exactly the same number of value dates as last year. For the last several years they've gotten em out of the way early and then have one value date in late May on a Thursday afternoon. I know because I always skip work that day.

The Cubs have three levels of season tickets

Full season - 81 games

Nights and Weekends - 55 games this year

Double Play - 15 games (all Wednesday and Friday afternoon games except opening day).

of course they also have a waiting list of 7000.

That used to be true but the Cubs are only offering the Full Season package to new season ticket holders.

There were indeed 6 value dates last season. I went to four of those games. The entire Padres series were value dates, and there was a Reds value game, a Mets value game, and a Rockies value game.

Yup, one of the value dates last year turned out to be a double header against the Padres, and I was there. :D Kerry Wood sucked, Mark Prior (1st start of the year) was awesome.

I will always take the word of a guy named "cheapseats" when it comes to value dates.

As well you should. :)

I went to about 25 games last year, and paid as little as 99 cents for tickets. Scalpers don't always make money on Cubs tickets.

For what it's worth, I prefer the upper deck (518, 523, and 527) to most 200 level seats.
